1. Introduction : Mobile Phone Tracker:
Mobile Phone Tracker application is a tracking application with which you can control track the mobile phone. You can see the live tracking using Google Earth or GMAP or using Yahoo MAP using web site : www.gpsintegrated.com .
2. How it Works?
This application is bundle with lot many features. It is developed to run on any Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition phones. It can automatically detect your GPS receiver even though your phone do not have internal GPS receiver. It automatically searches for Blue Tooth GPS receiver. Once the application started running, it starts sending data to the server using the configurable settings.
To view the logs and alerts generated by the applications, you can log-in in to track.gpsintegrated.com with user name and password provided by BioEnable Technologies. By using the Dashboard of the site, you can view your location and logs on various maps like Google Earth or GMAP etc. along with many features like panic button pressed or not, battery level alert or over speed alert etc.
3. Pre-Requisites:
To use this application and service, user should have a cell phone with:
- Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition. User can check for device suitability from here

- Minimum 100 kB of memory space for storing the log files.
- If phone does not have internal GPS receiver, user need to have external GPS receiver. For details of external GPS receiver supported with this application, please refer the web site.
- The SIM card should be activated for GPRS service if user opt for the option as Working Mode as GPRS only (to be discussed later in this document).
- User must register himself/ herself on www.gpsintegrated.com for accessing his/her logs on server and for other details.
While registering on the web site, user might asked for the phone details like IMEI number of the phone. User can get the IMEI of his/her phone by dialing short code *#06#.
4. Features:
- All the setting parameters can be set over SMS
- We can retrieve the lasted location by just giving the missed log to cell the phone.
- Application can detect and generate alerts for battery level.
- If device is moving with over speed than allowed, application can detect and generate the over speed alerts.
- If somebody pressed Panic button (Cancel key- Red C key), application automatically dials the configurable Dial Out number along with sending the panic alert to the server.
- All the settings can be configurable over SMS. So remote management of the setting parameter is possible.
- Auto call pick up facility from our call centre calls or you can auto pick up all the incoming calls after configurable time in seconds.
- User can configure the communication type as wanted depending on the cost. It can send the data to the server through GPRS using UDP or TCP communication channel or using SMS.
- We can define the interval after which application should sent log to the server. To reduce the cost of data transfer, we can efficiently use this facility as this interval values are configurable and can be set remotely.
- We can get on request location update from the application by simply giving the missed call to the cell phone.
- Log file size is configurable to customize users need and available memory.
5. Installation Procedure:

Once you have downlaoded the tracker.sis file on your PC,
1. Download the tracker.sis file on the mobile using Bluetooth or data cable provided with cell phone manufacturer.
2. Run the file by double –clicking the tracker.sis file (You can use Nokia Suit for installing the application)
3. It will pop-up the Details, Certification windows. Please click on the Yes/ OK options as per instructed
4. It will ask for Memory option for installing the application. Please select the appropriate memory. Remember that, all the logs (Passive logs) will be stored on same memory. (Preferred Choice: Memory Card)
Once the application is installed, it will start executing automatically.
Depending on the user’s phone setting for GPS receiver, Application finds the GPS receiver. If the phone is not having internal GPS receiver then, application starts searching for BT GPS receiver. Click on the More Device Option for BT search when it pops up. Following are some screen shot for the same.

Select this BT GPS device. After selecting the device, it will ask you for the pass code.

Please make sure you enter correct pass code which will be provided by BT GPS Receiver manufacturer. (Normally Default value is 0000).

Clicked on OK button. Application will start taking GPS values from the BT GPS receiver.
6. Settings:
Application is always running in background. Whenever you want to check / change the setting of the application, you need to open up the application.
We can do it by typing the short code on idle screen. (Default short code is “123”).

The application will ask for password (Default password is “ajt”). Enter your password and click on OK.

If password is correctly entered, you will get following screen.

Once you enter into the application, click on options on left hand bottom corner. It will give you following Menu option.

Settings Menu:
We first configure the application as required using the Option Setting. Under setting option , you will get following Menu options:

01) BasePhone No. Setting:
Base phone numbers: These are the Base station phone number setting options, from where we can control the setting’s parameters remotely.

1] Base Phone No. Two :
This Number will get used to send SMS in case of SMS Format = Human Readable
2] Base Phone No:
02) DialOut No. Setting
Inside this menu, you will find three options of DialOut numbers.

Dial Out No One is used, when user will press panic button (Red C button on idle screen), application will dial this number. Dial out number two and three are reserved for future use.
03) Activity Setting
Inside this menu, you will find following parameters
1] Commands

If command is enable, application will able accept the commands from the phone numbers other than the base phone number.
2] Security ID

It is a sort of password for phone numbers other than the base phone number to change the setting parameters.
3] Auto Pick up Type

Application will pick up the incoming calls depending upon the settings in this menu.
4] Auto Pick up Call in sec

Application will pick up the call after these parameter setting value seconds.
04) Alert Setting
Inside this menu, you will find the options to configure the alert settings as
1] Low Battery

If the parameter is enabled, and if battery level is gone below the 20%, in every log sent to the server from the cell phone, low battery alert indicator is also communicated. If parameter is disabled, battery level will not be sent to the server.
2] Panic Response

If feature option is Enabled here, and if you pressed panic button i.e. Cancel Key (‘C’ key )- application will automatically dial out the first dial out phone number from the dial out phone number list (DialOut Phone No One) along with sending Panic alert to the server over GPRS.
3] Speed Limit:

If speed of device is exceed than the set parameter value (Speed Limit) for the duration of Speed check interval and if Speed Check is Enabled, speed alert is get generated and get sent to the server. If Speed Check option is disabled, this feature gets disabled.

2] GPRS Frequency in second

This is an interval, after which application will be sending the data to the server if working mode is using GPRS as mode of communication. If value is 10 seconds, after every 10 seconds application will be sending one log to the server if working mode is using GPRS as mode of communication.
3] SMS Frequency in second

This is an interval, after which application will be sending the data to the server if working mode is using SMS as mode of communication. If value is 120 seconds, after every 120 seconds application will be sending one log to the server
4] Distance Triggering

If option is enable, device will start sending one log once the particular distance is traveled, to the server. This distance in meters is specified in the following menu item.

Depending upon the selection of working mode, data (location information + alert etc) will be sent to the server. E.g. if working mode is set to GPRS only, then only GPRS channel is used to sent data to the server. Similarly, if SMS only selected, it will use only SMS for sending data to the server. If GPRS & SMS selected, it will check for the GPRS service first, if it is failed to send the data, application will be sending the data using SMS.
3] APN


Here you can change the APN (Access Point Number) of your phone’s internet connection from available options as per the Service provider.
4] Communication Mode


you can select communication channel as UDP or TCP. By default, it will be using UDP for the communication.
5] UDP Port


This is a valid port number value on which server is listening for incoming data. It must be set to the value which is given by Support personal of BioEnable Technologies. (Normally Do not Change the default value set.)

Here, we can have two formats, as “Propriatary” and “Human Readable”
If SMS FORMAT = Propriatary then all the SMS will be get sent to the server i.e. Base phone number One which is invisible to the USER.
If SMS FORMAT = Human Readable then all the SMS will be get sent to the Base Phone number Two, where SMS will be in readable format as “Device Name, Latitude, Longitude, Date time, Location string if any,IMEI number of the device”.

1] Log ON Missed Call


If Device receive an missed call from the Base phone number defined into the BASE PHONE SETTINGS, then device will send one log to the server.
2] Auto Start


If Enable, application will start automatically on device restart. If disable, application will not start automatically after phone restart.
09) Memory Setting
1] Logs Memory in KB
Using this slider provided, user can change the size of log files saved on the memory of the phone.
10) Sleep Mode Setting :
1] GPS Sleep Mode


If GPS Sleep Mode is Enable, depending upon the GPS Sleep mode Type, it will turn off the GPS receiver and again turn On it.
Depending on the GPS Sleep mode type, turn OFF event is differs. Once the turn Off event is received, application will wait for GPSON time interval and then it will turn off the GPS receiver which results in saving the battery consumption. Once GPS receiver is OFF, irrespective of the GPS sleep mode type, it will remain off for GPS Sleep Time Interval duration. Once this interval is elapse, it will again Turn ON the GPS receiver.
2] GPS Sleep mode Type:
Here we have two types of modes:
i. Normal Sleep Mode
ii. Deep Sleep Mode


i. In case of Normal sleep mode, if application did not receive the valid for for GPS on Time interval, then it will entered into the sleep mode by turning off the GPS receiver for GPS Sleep time interval.
Where as, in case of Deep Sleep mode, irrespective of GPS valid/ invalid condition, the application retain the GPS Receiver On for GPS on Time interval and after then it will Turn Off the GPS receiver for GPS Sleep time interval.

When application entered into the sleep mode, it is obvious that application will not get any Valid GPS data, so there is no need send the data to the server. So we can turn the Data sending off by disabling this setting. If it is enable, we can application will send data to the server as per the Working mode and frequency defined in the Tracking setting and GPRS or SMS setting.
6] GPRS Sleep Mode


In order to save the battery power increasing the usability of the battery, we can enable this sleep mode option. If this sleep mode is enabled, application will turn off the GPRS if device is stationary for more than 3 second. If device is moving or not stationary and Sleep mode is off, all the generated logs are get sent through the selected channel.
11) Location Name Settings
1] Location Name


Application will retrieve the current location of the device by requesting to the web service. This will required valid GPS coordinate to get the location string. The retrieved location can be seen on the application idle screen. Also one can see the detailed location string by pressing ‘5’ on the application idle screen.
If this option is Enable, application will request for the location name from the Web Service. If Disable, application will not send any request for location name.
2] URL


URL where Web service is running.
3] Frequency in Min (default 10 mins)


Time interval after which application will request to the web service for location string.
4] Radius in Meters (default 5000)


It will search for the appropriate location name around the current location of the device.
5] Extended


If true, It will show the location name with parameter as said location is of particular direction and of particular distance.
6] Send Location by SMS (Default = TRUE)


If this flag is true, it will send the location name string with SMS when SMS FORMAT = proprietary else it will not.
7] Send Location by GPRS (default = FALSE)


If this flag is True, it will send the location string name with GPRS data string to the server else it will not.
12) E-Mail Setting
1] E-Mail


Application can send the emails containing the .kml file which can be opened on the google Earth directly to see the last location of the device.
If enable, application will send emails.
2] E-Mail Address (Receiver)


If Email setting is Enable, it will send mails to this Email address.
3] Frequency


If Email sending is Enable, it will send the email after every time interval mentioned here.
4] Send Email Only On Valid Logs


If it is True, it will send emails only when there is valid logs received to the device.
5] No of Logs to send in Email (min 1 to max 20)


It will define, last how many logs between the two Emails u would like to receive.
13) System Setting
1] Device Name


This name will appear in the Human Readable SMS format and in the KML file generated in case of Email. It must be defined. Default is ‘MobileTracker’.

This is to restore the default factory settings.
We will now learn about other options that are provided on main menu as:

4] Manual Sleep Mode

This Option Provide eo Other Options to the user as shown the following for changing the Sleep Mode state.
i) Start Sleep Mode


This Option Start The Sleep Mode
ii) Stop Sleep Mode


This Option Stop the Sleep Mode if Sleep Mode is in Started postion. If The GPS Mode is Already Stop this will restart the Sleep Mode.
5] Change Panic Code

This Option is provide for changing the Panic code. This Option contains two other option as Shown the following.
i) Restore to Default


Restore to Default Store The Default Panic Key Code
i) Change To Number


This Option Provide to enter to user new Panic Button No. After Updating Panic Button No This will give the Pop-up That Panic Button is Updated.
5] Change Password


This option is for changing the password of the application. Once you click on the “Change Password”, it will ask for old password and new password. Enter correct information and then OK to update the password setting.
5] Change ShortKey


This option is for changing the short code with which application can be get launched from the idle default screen of the cell phone. Once you click on the “Change short key “, it will ask for old short code and new short code. Enter correct information and then Ok to update the short code setting.

This will Exit the application. To again start the application, either restart the phone or click on the Tracker ICON from the Menus of the phone.
